Trip to Arizona

This past weekend Brodie and I, along w/ my sister Rachel, went to visit our grandma in Arizona. We couldn't have picked a better time to go. The weather was great, sunny and mid 70s - 80s the whole time. We kept ourselves pretty busy do little chores for grandma and running around. The first full day we were there we went to visit the place where my sister spent 3 months doing field work for school. She is finishing her masters in occupational therapy so this place had lots of stimulating toys and activities for Brodie to have fun with. One toy was a big box full of plastic balls to play in. He seemed to like it at first, but when he moved he started sinking and then it wasn't so much fun anymore.




Grandma has an orange tree in her back yard that was pretty full so we picked some oranges a couple of times to have for breakfast/snack time. I tried to get Brodie to pick one, but they were very hard to get off the tree.




Another day we went to the children's pool (which was heated) and took Brodie for his first swim in a big pool. I'd like to say he enjoyed it, but as you can tell from the picture he didn't. It's amazing that a boy who loves bath time so much doesn't like the pool. Maybe it was just too big. We'll try again this summer since the pool in our neighborhood should be finished.





The rest of the time we spent relaxing. We went to the mall once because of course I love to go shopping and they have some great stores there. Brodie enjoyed running around the back yard area and rocking in Great Grandma's chair. He even found a golf ball that had been hit into the yard earlier and carried it around. While we were gone Bill worked quite a bit and relaxed. We can't wait to go back for another visit.
